Gov. Paterson Strips SLA Chair Daniel Boyle of His Post

The Observer reports that Danny Boyle, the man appointed by former Governor Pataki to clean up the corrupt State Liquor Authority three years ago, has been stripped of his duties by Governor Paterson. Although Boyle was credited with the major overhaul of the SLA in the last few years, he has become a controversial figure of late due to his outright opposition to the Cipriani family (who are apparently in with Paterson) and the recent raiding of the Harlem SLA office. Given that Boyle publicly accused Paterson aides of pressuring him into giving a positive vote to Cipriani, we're not so shocked he's being replaced. Assistant Attorney General Dennis Rosen to take over Mr. Boyle's duties as chairman.
