In an interview with PeopleTV, the 59-year-old actress said, “There’s so much more campaigning now.” “It feels that if you don’t go to a party and shake a hand, you don’t have a chance. Mine was odd because I wasn’t nominated for a Golden Globe, I wasn’t nominated for a SAG,” she revealed. “I feel like I would never have a chance now.” She continued, “It feels like the machine is a little bit bigger to me, but the glory is still the same, the honor of it is still the same.” Gay Harden won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 2001 for her role in Pollock.
