Cypripedium kentuckiense

Kentucky lady's-slipper

This ladyslipper has pale yellow flowers and red-brown sepals. It prefers partially shaded sites with adequate moisture and will tolerate slightly acidic soils, but is best suited to alkaline spots. Ladyslippers are greatly favored by deer, so protect new plants until they're well-established!
