Spreading or prostrate perennial herb or shrublet, greyish-stellate-tomentellous on all its vegetative parts; branches up to c. 40 cm. long. Leaf-lamina up to 5 × 1·5 cm., narrowly elliptic-oblong or narrowly obovate-oblong, apex obtuse or sub-acute, base cuneate, margins finely serrate, nerves somewhat impressed above and prominent below, tomentellous on both surfaces; petioles up to 1 cm. long; stipules up to 3 mm. long, subulate. Flowers reflexed, 1 or rarely 2 together on slender axillary peduncles up to 3 cm. long; pedicels 2–3 mm. long; bracts c. 2 mm. long, subulate. Calyx 6–7 × 7 mm., with spreading or recurved narrowly triangular lobes up to 5 mm. long, campanulate, tomentellous or densely pubescent outside. Petals c. 4 × 1·75 mm., creamy-yellow, spoon-shaped with inrolled margins to both the claw and blade. Stamens with narrowly obovate filaments c. 2 mm. long, pubescent on the shoulders; anthers c. 6·5 mm. long, pubescent. Ovary oblong-ovoid, tomentose; styles c. 6 nun. long, puberulous except in the upper 1/3. Capsule c. 6 × 6 mm., obovoid, rounded or crowned with 5 short blunt truncate processes, tomentose or densely pubescent. Seeds brown, 1·5 × 1 mm., reniform, with a few radiating wrinkles.
