Symptoms

F. oxysporum has over 100 formae speciales divisions, which induce different symptoms in different hosts.
The fungus gets into the plant’s vascular tissue, affecting the water supply. The leaves, which become starved of water, show signs of wilt, chlorosis, yellowing and premature drop. Lateral shoots also show signs of wilt, and large lesions may appear on the lower stems (Malathrakis and Goumas, 1999). These symptoms have impacts on the whole plant, which will eventually die if the infection continues to develop (Agrios, 1988).
Myung et al. (2014) reported rhizome rot of ginger caused by F. oxysporum in China.
