Seedling
Cotyledons elliptic-spatulate, 6-10 x 3-4 mm, narrowed at the base and sessile. The first two leaves are glabrous, opposite or alternate, lanceolate, with 2-5 apiculate lobes, more or less deep. The third and fourth leaves are glabrous, opposite or alternate, generally showing 5 deep lobes. The following ones are glabrous, alternate, obovate, divided in numerous toothed and apiculate segments. The seedling is of fleshy aspect, waxy, bluish green.
Adult plant
Glebionis segetum is a glabrous and glaucous annual plant, which can reach 50 cm in height. Erect stem, simple or branched. Simple, alternate, glaucous leaves, those along the stem are sessile, with blade cut out in many toothed segments, with wedge-shaped base. At the top of the stem they become dentate, with widened embracing base. Inflorescence in terminal solitary capitula, carried by a fistulous peduncle and thickened at the top, of big dimensions, 20-50 mm in diameter. Outer florets ligulate intense golden yellow, ligule 20 mm long, terminating in 2 teeth. Inner florets tubular; involucre with 2-3 rows of bracts with dry membranous margin, outer ones ovate-oblong, inner ones oblong, with more developed, obtuse, dry, membranous appendage. Achenes from peripheral ligulate florets not winged, not triquetrous, and those from central tubulate florets subcylindrical with 10 prominent ribs.

Glebionis segetum can be confused with G. coronaria :
Leaves glaucous, median leaves pennatipartite in terminal half, ultimate upper leaves entire or with a few teeth; peripheral achenes with 2 obtuse keels: Glebionis segetum
Leaves bright green, the median and upper leaves 2-3-pennate; peripheral achenes with 3 thin, protruding keels, the median one very pronunced: Glebionis coronaria
