Perennating organs subterranean, tuberous, flattened-conical, in chains, 1.2–1.5 cm. long, 2 cm. diameter; roots 2 mm. diameter, white.

Leaves 5–6 in a fan, plicate, linear, acuminate, 17–40 cm. long, 3–8 mm. wide, lowermost sheathing.
