Ruschia aff. crassa
We received this Ruschia from Russel Wagner, who tells us it comes from Namaqualand, in northwestern South Africa. It looks very much like Ruschia crassa, from farther east in the Great Karoo, but it is not identical and flowers at the wrong time of the year. It is a delightful plant, whatever it may turn out to be. Ruschia is a large genus in the Ice Plant Family (Aizoaceae).
