Aloe fosteri

This attractive Aloe species belongs to the maculate group, which typically are stemless with spotted leaves and flowers with a swelling at the base. South Africa is home to many of the maculate species, including this one, found in the northeast of the country. Unlike most of its relatives, it comes into bloom in the fall, with a tall and vividly-colored inflorescence.
