Aloe betsileensis
This Aloe from the highlands of south-central Madagascar has stemless rosettes of leaves that look much like those of the more commonly grown Aloe capitata. However. it has very different flowers, which are short and tightly packed along the stalk. It seems most closely related to much smaller Aloe conifera, and might be thought of as a giant version of that species. As can be seen in the upper photo, A betsileensis normally has a branching inflorescence with several racemes, while the inflorescence of Aloe conifera normally lacks branches.
