Goodbye, John by Joe Stamm Band published on 2020-05-08T14:02:10Z For me, John Prine’s death on April 7th was kind of that “hit home” moment…like, “This thing is really gonna change our lives.” We had already been sheltered in place for 3 weeks by then, but it was almost a novelty at first – some much needed time off…some time catch up on projects and rest and Netflix. Then John passed away. And the days drug on. And it’s Spring. And it’s raining a lot. And it’s windy. I needed to write. And “Goodbye, John” just kinda poured out. This moment in history has been difficult…difficult for so many of us. It’s a moment that we’ll read about in history books as an absolute disaster. But while not taking anything away from the tragedies that are resulting, like John Prine’s passing, for example, I hope you’re discovering some things about yourself. I hope you’re finding beauty within the ugliness. I hope while you’re stuck at home, among family, and perhaps a few close friends, you’re finding your own little corner of Paradise. And I hope this song might help you look around and see that Paradise just a little more clearly. I’ve found much of that beauty in you – my fans, friends and supporters. Which is why I wanted to surprise you with this song release. Thanks for being in my corner. When you’re here, it is my own little corner of Paradise. Stay safe. Your friend, Joe Genre Country Comment by Prine Fan 101 best song to honor the greatest man ever. RIP John Prine 2020-05-12T16:18:39Z
