Lepismium houlletianum is an ephipytic cactus with bright green, flat, trailing stems that can reach up to 2m in length. The stems can become a reddish colour when in full light or environmentally stressed.
Masses of small, white flowers bloom throughout the year, depending on growing conditions. The flowers are followed by small pink to red berries.
Place Lepismium houlletianum in a position that gets filtered light, away from direct sunlight. Plant in an organic compost mix, such as an orchid mix or a good quality compost with perlite and bark pieces added in. Water regularly, when the soil starts to dry out. Do not overwater, and do not let it dry out for too long.
