Peperomia meridana is a species from Central America. It is sometimes called “Pixie” because of its compact growth habit. It also goes by the trade name of "Green Valley". The stiff, dime sized leaves are dark green and have deep ridges on the leaf surface. The leaves are formed in whorls around the thick red stems. This is a very popular plant for terrariums or small pots on the window sill.

Care of Peperomia meridana:
Shade to partial shade, temp. 40 to 95 degrees, 6 to 8 in. tall. Allow to get dry between waterings.
