30cm wooden ruler in pic for example scale. Please check the pics for more details, *this plant has  some nibbles on an older leaves.

Listing is for the plant only, decorative pot not included.

Shade lover.

Prefers bright indirect light. Gentle morning sun before 9am. Strong direct sunlight will cause sunburnt leaves.

Check water.

Requires regular watering, but allow top 2cm to dry out before watering when grown indoors. Good airflow so that the leaves dry off efficiently after watering.

Medium to High humidity for optimum growth.

Soil Mix.

Prefers a chunky free draining Aroid mix with good moisture retention.

Fertiliser.

Growing in the garden - Anthurium like regular organic chicken pellet fertiliser Spring and Summer. Slow release fertiliser in the Spring.

Indoors - Regular foliar feeding with seaweed solution is very beneficial. Chicken pellet fertiliser in the aroid mix will also help your Anthurium to grow well indoors.

Always follow the directions on your chosen fertiliser pack.

Pot preference.

A taller pot will give the leaves the height they need to hang freely. The pot should also be appropriate to the root ball size. Their main growth will be big leaves.

Origin.

Anthurium magnificum is native to Colombia.

Our 'Mossman' hybrid is from our own nursery.  We have three very old Anthurium mother plants, these babies are the result of these old magnificum x plants, crossing with each other. There is no information re the origins or cross of the mothers.

Notes.

Anthuriums can be propagated from stem cuttings eventually. They also can readily set seed in ideal conditions, both methods giving you opportunities for new plants.

Anthuriums like these can hold onto their leaves for a long time. Leaf care is important to keep your velvet looking beautiful.  Remove any yellowed, spent leaves.
