General Information

Cissus aralioides is a gracefully pendulous, climbing shrub producing stems that can be 25 metres long[]. It sometimes grows as a perennial herbaceous climber with stems 2 - 2.5 metres long that are woody at the base[]. The stems can be 62 - 75mm in diameter[]. The plant grows into other plants for support, attaching itself by means of coiled tendrils[].
The plant is harvested from the wild for its edible fruit, which is eaten locally. The plant has a graceful habit of growth and looks very ornamental when it fruit[].
