Betty Lynn Buckley (born July 3, 1947) is an award-winning American actor and singer known for a wide variety of roles across theatre, television, and film. She was born in Big Spring, Texas, the oldest of four children.
Her first acting role was in 1969, when she played Martha Jefferson in 1776, and she subsequently broke into television and film in Eight is Enough and Carrie (1976), respectively. She's been cast twice in the last of these, playing teacher Miss Collins in the 1976 film directed by Brian De Palma and Margaret White in the 1988 Broadway production of the musical adaptation.
