Amy Ryan and David Strathairn have joined Jesse Eisenberg, Isabelle Huppert and Gabriel Byrne in family drama “Louder than Bombs,” the English-language debut from Norwegian filmmaker Joachim Trier.
The eight-week shoot on “Bombs” begins Thursday in New York City. Memento Films International is brokering international rights and is teamed with UTA and CAA for the North American sale.
Trier is directing the Norwegian-French-Danish co-production from a script he co-wrote with Eskil Vogt in which the family of a late war photographer — played by Huppert — has to grapple with their contrasting memories of her. Byrne will play the husband and Eisenberg and Devin McKenzie Druid will plays the sons.
Trier and Vogt collaborated on “Oslo, August 31st” and “Reprise.”
Producers are Motlys’ Thomas Robsahm, Memento Films’ Alexandre Mallet-Guy, Animal Kingdom’s Joshua Astrachan, Beachside Films’ Marc Turtletaub, and Bona Fide’s Albert Berger and Ron Yerxa. Executive producers include Sigve Endresen, Frederick W. Green, Michael B. Clark, Emilie Georges, Nicholas Shumaker, Naima Abed, Trier and Vogt.
Memento will distribute the film in France. It has also sold to Benelux, Greece, Israel, ex-Yugoslavia, Turkey, Taiwan and the Middle East.
