William Shatner may be unable to attend Leonard Nimoy‘s funeral, but that’s not stopping him from paying tribute to his friend and “Star Trek” co-star, taking to Twitter to remember Nimoy and answer fan questions about the two.

After Shatner said on Twitter that he would be unable to make it to Nimoy’s funeral because he was in Florida for a previously scheduled charity appearance at the Red Cross Ball, he garnered backlash, including a New York Daily News cover that called him “Captain Jerk.” Shatner posted the cover on his Twitter on Sunday, saying, “Let’s discuss.”

Along with defending his decision to attend the charity event instead of go to the funeral (Shatner clarified that his two daughters would be going to the funeral), Shatner fondly remembered Nimoy, encouraging fans to ask questions about Nimoy’s personality, their relationship and memories from “Star Trek.” Shatner’s Twitter garnered much attention on Sunday, with Shatner posting some touching tweets about the late actor.

Nimoy died Friday in Los Angeles of end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. He was 83. See below some highlights from Shatner’s Twitter on Sunday.
