LD Entertainment has acquired feature film and TV rights to Jowita Bydlowska's memoir "Drunk Mom." The production-distribution company has not yet attached a director or writer. Bydlowska's book, published last year by Doubleday Canada, chronicles her return to alcoholism following the birth of her first child. The story includes her binges, blackouts, lies and humiliations as well as her fight toward recovery. Book is set for publication in the U.S. in May through Penguin. Liddell’s unique career is best shown in a 48-hour span in September, when he sold distribution rights to the Pete Davidson film he produced, “Big Time Adolescence,” to Hulu for $4 million the day after it was announced his Off-Broadway “Little Shop of Horrors” revival had been extended eight weeks. Over the past year, he’s financed and produced the sci-fi thriller “Fast Color” and backed the releases of “Ben Is Back,” starring Julia Roberts, Max Minghella’s “Teen Spirit,” the documentary “The Biggest Little Farm” and “Judy,” starring Renée Zellweger. Liddell is a four-time Tony winner whose Broadway production credits include smashes “Hadestown” and “Dear Evan Hansen.” Upcoming projects include Netflix’s “The Sleepover,” starring Malin Akerman, and the horror film “Eight for Silver,” with Orlando Jones.
