A five-time Oscar nominee for best picture as a producer, most recently for 2017’s WWI drama “Darkest Hour,” Bevan and Working Title Films partner Eric Fellner found themselves back in the thick of the awards-season race in 2022. Their films “The Swimmers” (Netflix), a fact-based tale about two sisters’ journey from Syrian war refugees to the 2016 Rio Olympics, and “Catherine Called Birdy” (Amazon), Lena Dunham’s adaptation of Karen Cushman’s novel about a 14-year-old girl in 13th-century England (Bella Ramsey) trying to avoid being married off by her father, both debuted to acclaim at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. Working Title was also behind romcom “Ticket to Paradise” (Universal), with George Clooney and Julia Roberts, and adaptation “Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical” (Netflix), starring Emma Thompson.

Hans Zimmer, Working Title Chairs Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner Buy Historic Maida Vale Studios

The historic Maida Vale Studios in London has been sold by the BBC to a four-way partnership between Working Title chairs Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner and two-time Oscar winner Hans Zimmer and his business partner Steven Kofsky. The partnership has multi-million pound refurbishment plans to upgrade the studio's facilities.
