Daisy Ridley

Daisy Ridley (born April 10, 1992) is an English actor from Westminster, London. After dropping out of Birbeck, University of London to pursue acting, she started her career in British television with supporting roles in programs such as “Youngers” and “Silent Witness.” She was then cast as Rey, one of the lead characters in the J.J. Abrams-directed 2015 revival of the “Star Wars” franchise “The Force Awakens.” The blockbuster became the third-highest grossing global release ever at the time of release, launching Ridley to international fame. The actor stayed with the “Star Wars” series through the next two entries “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” and “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.” Her prominence also led to other feature roles, with performances in Kenneth Branagh’s “Murder on the Orient Express,” “Ophelia,” “Chaos Walking” and “Sometimes I Think About Dying.” Ridley has been announced to return to “Star Wars,” reprising the role of Rey in a coming entry. The actor’s franchise homecoming was announced with her appearance on stage at Star Wars Celebration 2023. Ridley married fellow actor Tom Bateman after beginning a relationship in 2017.
