Hoyt Yeatman II (Jr.) (American, 1926-2019) was born in San Francisco, CA. His father (Sr.) was a commercial artist who mostly painted movie house posters. Yeatman II, Jr. joined the Merchant Marine and then served in the US Army during WWII. After the war, Yeatman worked as a dental technician, but his passion was always art - he painted in acrylics and oils, drew with pastels, and sculped with kiln-fired clay. After moving to Florida, he joined several art leagues - West Volusia Artist Inc., the DeBary Art League, and the Deltona Art Club, serving for a time as President or Vice President in each. His son, Hoyt Yeatman III (sometimes referred to as Jr.), founded Dream Quest and is an Oscar-winning special effects artist.
