Bill OddieNow best known for his role as a bird-bothering natural history presenter, Bill Oddie is also a great comic writer/performer and a former star of the much-loved The Goodies. His comic career began in Cambridge Footlights. Before graduating he was already writing for shows like That Was The Week That Was. He went on to write and appear on numerous programmes including I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again, which featured many of his comic songs. After joining Tim Brooke-Taylor and Graeme Garden on children's show Broaden Your Mind, the trio went on to create The Goodies, which became one of the most popular comedies of the 1970s. His songs led the Goodies to several major chart hits, most notably "The Funky Gibbon". He has continued to work with his fellow Goodies on programmes including Bananaman but now concentrates on natural history. He has become a, slightly grumpy, national treasure.
