JANET NOLAN CONRAD (RETIRED)

Janet enjoyed a fulfilling career in law, spanning over 40 years of dedicated service in Nova Scotia. For more than 22 years, she contributed her expertise to Blackburn Law, where she initially managed a diverse general practice before focusing on real estate, wills and estate matters.

Driven by her passion for assisting others, Janet found fulfillment in her work, building lasting relationships with numerous clients throughout her career. She particularly cherished the opportunity to guide first-time homebuyers, recognizing the significance of this milestone in their lives.

Janet's compassionate and knowledgeable approach earned her the trust and gratitude of countless clients over the years. She valued the supportive and collaborative environment fostered by the Blackburn Law team, where colleagues were always ready to offer assistance and care, both to each other and to their clients.

Outside of her legal career, Janet prioritized community involvement and family. Understanding the importance of work-life balance, she dedicated her spare time to volunteering with organizations like the Legal Information Society of Nova Scotia (LISNS), providing estate planning support to individuals in palliative care. Janet also contributed to various community initiatives, including the Waverley Ratepayers Association, the Shubenacadie Canal Commission and as a Director of Family SOS.

In retirement, Janet continues to cherish moments with her family, including her granddaughter, while indulging in hobbies such as reading, cooking, gardening and exploring her creative side through painting.
