Tidier and smaller in form than the species, Teucrium fruticans ‘Compactum’ grows into a round, 2-3’ x 2-3’ mound. In the summer, vibrant, dark-blue flowers bloom and attract bees, butterflies and other pollinators. The flowers are especially striking in contrast to the Germander’s grey-green leaves with silver undersides and stems. Compact Bush Germander grows best in full sun to part sun. Provide good drainage and low water. Use Teucrium fruticans ‘Compactum’ as accents, low hedges or edging in Mediterranean, waterwise and dry gardens.
