Lady Gaga Just Debuted a Flippy Retro Bob

Perfect for a jazz club.

If there's one person we can always count on to change up their look, it's Lady Gaga. Her early days were all about pushing fashion as far as it could go, including her legendary meat dress, ditching pants for leotards, and showing up to the VMA's in full male drag. Now though, her day-to-day style is more classic and glamorous, but still with a hint of edge. Most recently, the superstar has worn a dusty rose manicurecloud nails, and even went makeup-free at the Oscars

Now, she's changing up her look again, wearing a retro bob that just screams "Jazz music at a dimly lit bar."

On October 1, Gaga posted an Instagram carousel from her latest performance of her Jazz and Piano residency in Las Vegas, wearing a "malt shop" bob that was flipped to perfection and paired with glamorous makeup and a performance-worthy outfit.

The bob in question featured Gaga's icy blonde hair in a crisp side part. Her hair stopped right above her shoulders, but appeared shorter thanks to the fact that the ends of her hair that would have grazed her collarbone were curled upwards. Altogether, the hair was flawless without a strand out of place, and had a super-retro feel.

Gaga's bob is a rendition of the ultra-popular hairstyle we have seen on the likes of Zendaya, Ice Spice, Florence Pugh, and Vanessa Hudgens. Plus, it coincides with the "Bob Renaissance" that's been dominating this year, making short, sleek haircuts the new cool-girl chop—though, Gaga didn't need a haircurt for us to know she was cool.

She paired her retro 'do with flawless makeup. The look started with a perfectly matte base (might it be the Haus Labs Triclone Foundation?). On her eyes, she wore a dramatic smoky eye, with black eyeliner on her top waterline and white eyeliner on her lower lashline. In her inner corners was a shimmery white shade, which was a stark contrast to the dark black on her outer corner. Bright red and shiny lips finished off the glam.

To finish the look, she wore a timeless little black dress with showy accents. It had dramatic puffed short sleeves that connected to her high neckline that was bedazzled in silver jewels. The same bedazzling flowed down the side of her dress to her waistline, where it wrapped around her body. Classic pointy black heels were the final touch.
