As far as hot hatches go, Lancia’s original Delta HF Integrale is up there with the best of the best, a true automotive icon – think of it as the E30 BMW M3 of performance hatchbacks.

It’s a car that stunned the racing world in its rallying form where it captured six consecutive WRC manufacture titles from 1987 to 1992, while winning oodles of praise for its road-going versions.

It was never officially sold in the States, so you can understand our enthusiasm when we discovered a 1989 Lancia Delta HF Integrale 16v located in Miami, Florida and listed for sale on eBay.

Lancia developed several versions of the all-wheel drive performance hatch, starting with the 165PS (163hp) HF 4WD in 1986 and continuing with the 185PS (182hp) HF Integrale 8v in 1987, the 200PS (197hp) HF Integrale 16v in 1989, the 210PS (207hp) HF Integrale Evo 1 in 1991 and the 215PS (212hp) HF Integrale Evo 2.

The two Evo models, nicknamed Deltona and featuring even wider tracks and fatter wheel arches are the ones to gun for if you live in Europe, but here in the States, beggars can’t be choosers…

With eight days left for the eBay auction to end, at the time of this posting, the highest bid was at US$15,979 without having met the reserve.

Did you know that Zagato built a limited production coupe model based on the underpinnings of the Delta HF Integrale with 250hp?

Seller’s Description

“This particular example is a true Italian super car, imported directly from Italy. It does now however hold a free and clear Florida title, it’s been cleared by customs and the DOT and fully legal to be registered and driven.

The car is in it’s original condition with no prior damage history or rust. There is no major dents, dings or scratches. It is however a vehicle that is over 20 years old and under close inspection average wear and tear is visible. It’s a stunning car and in incredible condition…above average for its year. Slight bubbling is visible on the bottom end of the windshield where it meets the wiper blade (see photo)
Same goes for the interior, all is original including the factory leather Recaro bucket seats! . Headliner is also slightly loose. Dash and door panels are practically flawless and carpet does have wear and tear.

Mechanically the car is sound and truly is nothing shy of a true race car. Under the hood is a solid 2L 16V 4 cylinder turbo charged motor. The 5 Speed transmission also shifts perfect. The a/c blows cold.

This car is a true collectors piece and the opportunity to own something different with such significant history.”
