Sacha Baron Cohen ridicules Madonna's adoption in outrageous Bruno movie

Comedian Sacha Baron Cohen has put pop star Madonna firmly in the firing line in his most outrageous film yet.

The controversial British star, who this time takes on the guise of gay Austrian fashion journalist Bruno, mocks the singer's adoption of toddler David Banda.

And the timing of the release of these hilarious stills - on the day the singer's second adoption bid was dealt a blow in a Malawian court - was fiendishly topical.

Not afraid of controversy: Comedian Sacha Baron Cohen mocks Madonna's adoption of an African child in his new movie Borat

A new trailer for the movie shows Bruno collecting an African baby out of a cardboard box on a airport baggage carousel.

He says: 'Angelina's got one, Madonna's got one, now Bruno's got one.'

The character also takes the child onto a talk show wearing a 'Gayby' T-shirt.

Much to the horror of the audience, who were unaware of the spoof, he says: 'I gave him a traditional African name - OJ.'

It's not the first time Madonna, who hired Baron Cohen to appear in her 2000 Music video as Ali G, has proven good fodder for the outrageous comedian.

During a routine at this year's Golden Globes Sacha told the star-studded crowd: 'This recession is affecting everyone, even celebrities.

'Madonna has had to get rid of one of her personal assistants. Our thoughts go out to you Guy Ritchie.'

And during an appearance at the MTV Europe Music Awards in 2006 as Kazakh TV presenter Borat, he brought out a baby which he offered to sell to Madonna.

Flamboyant: Baron Cohen's latest incarnation is a gay Austrian journalist

He said: 'My only concern is that this singing transvestite will not be such a good father.'

The film is a follow-up to the 2006's smash hit Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan.

He once again puts himself in a number of outrageous situations - including being stripped down and whipped by a topless dominatrix and causing mayhem at Milan fashion week by wearing a Velcro suit.

The film, which opens on July 10, already looks set to be a huge hit at the box office.

An early screening of a 22-minute section of Bruno, who wants to become 'the biggest Austrian celebrity since Hitler', received a rapturous reception.
