'He has been missing for several days, last seen in the early hours of Sunday morning in the Glasgow area.

'We, his friends and family are extremely concerned for his safety and would appeal to anyone who may have seen him in the last 48 hours to contact Glasgow Police.'

Michael and Tony worked together during his seven-year stint on Benidorm, which aired on ITV from 2007 until 2018.

Tony went onto join Coronation Street as George Shuttleworth in 2020, and has previously said he has no plans to leave the soap anytime soon.

Posting a clip of his character tending to an unconscious Eileen Grimshaw, he wrote on X: 'I only told her I'd signed a new contract and this is what happens! I thought she'd be pleased!

'That's George keeping Eyelash on her toes until at least July 2024, and I couldn't be happier.'
