Hot fuzz! John Simm shows off a rugged new look as he sports full beard while promoting his show Intruders in Cannes
It's been eight years since he entered the hearts of countless fans as clean-cut detective Sam Tyler - and now he's sporting a completely new look.
John Simm, 44, looked decidedly more rugged than usual, when he stepped out in Cannes, France, with a full beard on Monday.
The Yorkshireman showed off his new look as he promoted his new TV show Intruders, alongside co-star Mira Sorvino, at MIPCOM.

Posing on a jetty in front of an array of yachts, the screen star looked stick in a burgundy leather jacket over a black polo shirt.
Wearing a pair of slim-cut blue jeans, John completed his ensemble with a smart pair of tan brogues.
Standing beside her co-star, Mira, 47, cut a glamorous figure in a sleeveless white dress featuring large blue floral patterning.

With her blonde hair resting on her shoulders, she teamed it with a pair of striking blue heels.
Their new BBC America paranormal drama, in which John plays former Los Angeles Police Department detective Jack Whelan, kicked off in August to rave reviews.
Speaking to MailOnline ahead of the paranormal drama’s premiere, Tory Kittles, who plays Jack’s former LAPD partner Gary Fischer, said: ‘I haven't seen anything like it.

'I don't think the subject matter has been attacked in a way that Glen has here.’
He described the new series as ‘a mash-up of noir drama meets a great detective series meets your worst nightmare’.
When asked about the success of thrillers like Intruders and The X-Files, Tory joked: ‘I don’t know, maybe people just love being scared s***less!’
