Ab Fab star Julia Sawalha revealed as Bubble Tea on Masked Singer UK

The Masked Singer UK 's Bubble Tea was unmasked in the latest episode, leaving viewers and judges in complete shock.

The character was exposed as actress Julia Sawalha during their second week on the series, as they lost out to Air Fryer, Owl, Piranha and Eiffel Tower.

The judges sent them packing after a sing-off with Owl.

Panellists Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall and Mo Gilligan were joined by special guest Jennifer Saunders as Rita Ora had other work commitments. Jennifer in particular was stunned to learn that Bubble Tea was her on screen daughter Saffron "Saffy" Monsoon.

After taking off her mask, Julia, who is the sister of Loose Women star Nadia Sawalha, reached out to Jennifer and said: "Mummy".

At the end of the show, Julia couldn’t hide her emotions, telling the audience: "I've loved it! My friend earlier this year said you don’t sing enough Julie!”

Fans spoke about the unmasking on social media too, with one saying: "Julia Sawalha being unmasked the very same week that Jennifer Saunders is a guest judge? WELL I NEVER”.

Another added: “The fact Jennifer Saunders is on when Julia Sawalha gets unmasked is ICONIC."

A third social media commented: “Jennifer Saunders and Julia Sawalha greeting each other with 'Mummy!', 'Darling!' is absolute camp heaven and that’s saying something given the fortnight we've had on The Traitors.”

While another added: "That was the TV moment of the year! Saffy and Edina hugging at the end really warmed my cold dead heart."
