Channel 4 quiz show host Noel Edmonds, who presented Deal or No Deal, has left fans shocked after he made a surprising career change after relocating to New Zealand in 2019.

The former 74-year-old host has given an insight into his life now and how he makes ends meet by owning a cafe Down Under and leaving people delighted by getting behind the counter himself to serve up some hot brews.

Noel opened up on his new venture during a rare trip back to the UK when he spoke to business owner Sherry Downes who told Somerset Live: "Initially, I asked him if I could take a photo and then I cheekily asked whether he wanted to get behind the counter and serve some customers.

"He happily obliged and did about 20 minutes and people just loved it - he was an angel.

"Noel loved the idea of our community cafe as he owns one in New Zealand. He talked to us about our café as well as talking about his own business." Sherry also said Noel's order of choice was a cappuccino.

It seems the former Channel 4 host has been busy as he upped sticks for a new life, with it reported that he launched a radio station for plants during his time in New Zealand to help boost growth across the country.

Noel, who lives in New Zealand with his wife and son told the Mail on Sunday at the time: "We ran an experiment with two plants, one of which we neglected and the other we played Positively Plants to.

"The difference was absolutely amazing, and then we played those tones, because it's all about tones, we played those tones to the plant that didn't look so good, and it perked up again."

It comes following the announcement that his popular show Deal or No Deal is to be subject to a re-boot as TV insiders have revealed that ITV is now looking to revive the quiz programme.

A source told The Sun: “Deal Or No Deal was absolutely huge back in the day and pulled in millions of viewers.

“ITV think there is still a huge appetite for it and think they could make a huge success of the show if they brought it back."

The original series fronted by Noel ran on Channel 4 for 11 years until 2016 with reports that ITV star Stephen Mulhern could be tipped as the favourite to host the re-boot.
