Jujube - Li

$124.00 ($119.00-$139.00 choose a size)

Large and round in shape. The texture is crisp and fresh fruit have an excellent flavour. Fruit can be picked at the yellow/green stage however the best flavour is obtained when half the fruit has turned reddish brown. Mature fruits are 40-60mm in diameter. Early - Mid season ripening (Feb-April) Self fertile

Sandalwood - Indian

$99.00 ($29.00-$99.00 choose a size)

Medium-sized hemiparasitic trees that attach themselves to the root system of nearby plants from which they extract water and minerals. Pinto Peanut and Acacia are suitable hosts as they are a legume and hence a natural nitrogen source. Keep Acacias pruned so they dont over take growth of Sandalwood. Used in the production of sandalwood oil, trees are harvested from 8 years and the entire tree is used for oil production including the roots and stump. The production of sandalwood in India and Nepal is strictly controlled by the government who owns all the trees, however illegal harvesting and smuggling is a problem due to the high value of sandalwood oil.

Nashi Pear - Tropical Sunshu

$49.00 ($49.00-$49.00 choose a size)

A superior low chill Nashi suitable for warm temperate and subtropical areas, a vigorous selection that is self pollinating and will be highly productive within 2-3 years. The delicate beige speckled skin is attractive, the flesh is white, crisp and crunchy and melts in the mouth. Delicious eaten straight off the tree.

Yellow Mangosteen

$34.00 ($24.00-$79.00 choose a size)

Yellow Mangosteen is a round fruit with very tart yellow segments. The high acidity makes it ideal for jams and jellies but removing the seed and skin can be time consuming. Easier to grow in the subtropics than the purple mangosteen, but the flavour is altogether different. The tree grows well in full sun and shade. It will tolerate and continue to fruit heavily in drought conditions. The tree is very attractive, with large drooping leaves and a layered form. The fruit can reach 8-10 cm in length and looks highly ornamental when in the tree.

Tangelo - Minneola

$39.00

Minneola is a medium to very large, round to bell shaped fruit with a pronounced neck. The deep orange to red-orange coloured skin has a smooth pebbly peel. Very few seeds. For pollination, any early flowering mandarin will assist, for example Satsumas, Nules, Emperor or Imperial.
  Special

Achacha

$39.00 ($19.75-$129.00 choose a size)

A cousin of the mangosteen, Achachas are tangy and refreshing with a delicate subtle sweetness, a fine balance between sweetness and acidity, producing an unusual taste sensation. Fruit should be picked mature as it does not ripen further on storage. Originating from the Bolivian part of the Amazon basin in South America, the Bolivian name of the fruit is Achachairu and translated means honey kiss. Achacha is protected by Plant Breeders Right (PBR) and cannot be grown or propagated without licence agreement with Achacha Fruit Group

Testing as a free plant, not too sure if I will ground plant it as male and female needed and may be too time and space consuming to get a pollination pair.

Kei Apple

Kei Apple love our Southern California climate & soil. Year 7 after planting from specimens obtained from commercial nursery (3-4 years old) our harvest is bountiful. Easy to separate juice & pulp from skins & seeds by using a chinois-pestle.

Grown to help protect cold sensitive plants from frost.  Two have been run over by the ride on mower and have reshot. not sure that they are providing any frost protection, but I'm impressed with their staying power.

Slow growing away from the tropics but bullet proof once established. Tolerant of most soils. The thorns are incredibly long and sharp. The fruits are delicious and unusual.
