The Saturdays singer Una Healy was at the recent Stand Up to Cancer with YouTube live event to perform some new tracks, and sat down with Digital Spy to talk about why the charity is so close to her heart.

"For me, I never met my grandmother because she passed away on the January in the year I was born," she said.

"I've seen (other family) pass away from cancer but then, on the positive side, my aunt and my first cousin had cancer at the same time and they both pulled through and they're perfect today.

"So if it wasn't for all the money and the research, they wouldn't have these breakthroughs and they wouldn't be alive today."

"I've done stuff with (Stand Up to Cancer) before," Una continued. "I know how amazing the charity is because it's all over the world.

"It's amazing how rapidly developments are being made in cancer research. So many lives have been saved but unfortunately so many lives have been lost."

We also talked with Una about The Saturdays' wedding reunion ("it was just lovely") and, of course, new music.

"I'm so lucky to be doing the kind of music that I've always wanted to do.

"I've done a few nights in Cambridge and Liverpool where people really just come to listen to the music. It's really stripped back: just me on rhythm guitar, someone on keys and a bass guitarist.

"It's completely organic and I completely love it."

YouTube star Jim Chapman also interviewed Una, where she addressed The Saturdays getting trapped in a lift together at the event (it wasn't funny at the time), and how the rest of the band reacted to her playing them her new music.
