Blockbuster has teamed with Microsoft and Sony to guarantee next-gen pre-orders.

Customers can choose to cancel Xbox One and PS4 pre-orders with Blockbuster, or transfer them to a different retailer by filling out an online form.

Sony and Microsoft will honour the pre-orders by sending additional stock to a new retail partner, believed to be Argos, according to MCV.

In order to secure next-gen pre-orders for launch, customers must complete the online transfer form by 11.59pm on November 7.

The rental chain, which has entered administration for a second time in a year, originally said that it was unable to honour pre-orders.

Blockbuster was bought by Gordon Brothers Europe earlier this year.

The PlayStation 4 will be available from November 15 in North America and November 29 in Europe, while the Xbox One will be available from November 22.
