A photography club from Weymouth is brightening up a town research hub in time for Christmas with an array of colourful photos of the area.

Staff at Weymouth Research Hub have partnered with Weymouth Camera Club and selected 12 images of the area to go on display, as part of efforts to build links with the local community.

These photographs will be printed onto canvas and used to decorate the hub, with the wall art being placed in the main corridors, public areas, and every clinic room.

The chosen images were voted for by staff from the two NHS Trusts - Dorset County Hospital and Dorset HealthCare, as well as staff at the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network Wessex, which support the hub.

Dorset Echo:

Sarah Doyle, Head of Research at Dorset County Hospital, said: “We’ve loved working with Weymouth Camera Club on this special project. The pictures are an integral part of the renovations we’re undertaking in the building. They really capture the local area and make the hub so colourful and welcoming.”

Ruth Baker, Secretary of Weymouth Camera Club, said: “We’ve all enjoyed taking part in this - 78 images were sent in and it’s been a good collaborative activity and lovely to look around the hub today and understand more about the work here.”

Weymouth Research Hub opened in June 2023, and is running clinical research to help develop new vaccines and medications to improve healthcare for all.
