Description

Campanulorchis thao is a species of epiphytic orchid native to Asia. It is an orchid of small size, with epiphytic habits with subglobose to ovoid pseudobulbs that are enveloped by a sheath when young and that bear a single small apical leaf, narrowly elliptic to oblong coriaceous with a petiolate base. It blooms in the summer and autumn in a terminal, erect, tomentose red-brown inflorescence, 3-4 cm long, with fragrant flowers. It is found in Hainan of China and Vietnam in lowland evergreen forests and upland primary cloud forests at elevations of 500 to 2,200 meters.
