Actor. He was best known to film viewers for both his roles as Sharkey in the 1989 film "License to Kill" and as Dekker in the 1993 film "Last Action Hero." He attended Tennessee State University, where he played football and majored in both history and drama. After college, he went on to have a short career in the National Football League with the Chicago Bears. He turned to acting after his football career and made his "big screen" debut in the 1972 film "Cool Breeze." Besides "License to Kill" and "Last Action Hero," he would go on to appear in such films as "Dillinger," (1973) "F.I.S.T." (1978) "Norma Rae" (1979), "1941" (1979), "48 Hrs." (1982), "Red Dawn," (1984), "Lock Up" (1989), and "Loaded Weapon 1" (1993). In 1973, he made his television debut in the television movie "Snatched." He would go on to appear in such television series as "Police Story," "Wonder Woman," "Trapper John M.D.," "Hill Street Blues," and "ER." He passed away of a heart attack.
