Pseuderanthemum variabile is a common small perennial herb with erect stems, 7-15 cm high.

The glossy, dark green leaves are opposite along the stem, lance shaped but varying from narrow to broad, 3-5 cm long.

The flowers can be white or pale blue, pink or mauve, and may have purple markings on the upper of the 5 unequal spreading lobes. The 2 stamens partly project beyond the narrow floral tube.

Pseuderanthemum variabile flowers in December, January, February and March.
