Arctic fox spook that will be for sale upon completion. I wanted to test something out upon a real skull prior to working upon a commission, hence this fluffer.
After waiting almost 2 weeks after ordering I gave the company a call and it turns out the gal never got the notice something had been sold. A little more wiggling around and 3 days later it arrived, but was not quite what I had ordered. Had paid about $30 extra for feet and, while the leg skins are super long, there are no feet on the pelt. I'm plenty irritated, but I won't return it. It's an arctic that is almost through its winter molt, tail and leg fur still thinner, black tip on the tail. It will have its usual long white Spook ears and it looks like I get the pleasure of seeing if I can sculpt feet. Gotta brush the body out to get the underfur matting out (minor) but soon enough I will have a white fluffy thing to work with!
It will be poseable, red LED eyes, articulated jaw as usual. :) Since it has a real skull the chances of it being able to support itself fully are extremely high. Looking to sell around $450 to cover materials cost and labor.

I did not kill nor did I have these animals killed for any purpose. I do not know the history of either piece, but I do know that they were killed within the US. No damage to the pelt to show any mistreatment or suffering prior to death. Both animals (skull does not belong to the pelt) were wild.

It's looking really cool already.
I'm sure someone will love this little critter when it's finished.

skull looks pretty greasy - might want to degrease it first, otherwise it just gets worse and it wouldn't be good for the tanned leather to get right up against skull grease
Can I take a moment to feel pretty novice and say I'm not sure how to do that? It's mostly around the zigomatic arch and along the lower jaw bone at the moment...^^;
easiest way is to put it in a bucket of water with a ton of dawn in it, and heat will make it faster. a fish tank heater is ideal but the sun will work, it just takes a few weeks. that's why a lot of people selling skulls skip the degreasing stage - it takes time
Dagum. Alright, if it takes a few weeks, I'd best jump on it then...
I really look forward to seeing this finished!
Off topic, but the green fur it's sitting on - is that the same color in person as the photograph shows? And if it is, what's it called and where can it be bought? A friend is looking for fur JUST that color and it doesn't seem to exist in a decent pile. That'd make her day.

It's actually steel metal blue: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7413606/
Here's where I bought it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/FAKE-FUR-FU.....item4ab6bf33a9
It's much softer than it looks in person <3 Wonderful stuff.

Ah, it's lovely! Sadly it's not nearly as dark as I was hoping ^x^;
Thanks!

Ever do any of these or something close to it for a trade?
