Geograph - photograph every grid square

The ultimate development of the pianola system to play by machinery a set of instruments to represent a 40-piece orchestra. The music is stored on a paper drum which unwinds through the playing mechanism, controlling levers and bellows operating a pipe organ, percussion and other instruments. Sir George Bullough bought this in 1906 and it is now thought to be one of only two examples still in working order. It is demonstrated to visitors on the guided tour of the castle.
