We regret to inform you (especially if “you” are a millennial or Gen X) that Keanu Reeves, the internet’s husband, is still off the market. New pics prove he’s still going strong with his girlfriend of over two years.
The John Wick actor has been romantically linked to artist Alexandra Grant since 2019, though he is quiet about the specifics of his dating life. During the 2022 Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) Gala on June 5, however, Reeves and his partner showed a rare bit of PDA on the red carpet. Locking hands and giggling like children, the pair look as happy as ever. Ah, love.
The couple kept it casual for the low-key ceremony: Reeves wore a navy suit with a striped tie while his significant other wore a strappy red gown paired with a golden mini clutch.
The Matrix actor and Grant first went public in late 2019 at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s Film and Art Gala—where they were also photographed holding hands. The couple met years ago but only began pursuing each other romantically within the last few years, Grant told British Vogue in 2020.
“I think every single person I knew called me in the first week of November, and that’s fascinating,” she told writer Louis Wise of the aftermath of their decision to go public. “But the question I’ve been asking in all of this is: What is the opportunity for good?”
In December, Reeves said on the Drew Barrymore Show that though he is “not a fighter,” he would fight for one thing: “If you don’t fight for your love, what kind of love do you have?”
Although Reeves and Grant haven’t announced plans to take their relationship to the next level, it appears the couple are in it for the long haul. Even though I’m fighting back tears and blasting “That Should Be Me” by Justin Bieber, as a proud member of the Keanu Reeves fan club, I’m happy for them! I promise.
