Andy Schott Memorial

After a year-long battle with stage 4 glioblastoma, on November 6, 2020 at 7:30 am, Robert "Andy" Schott passed away at 56 years old. Andy is a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and legend! As a tough US Marine Veteran and experienced nurse, it was no surprise that he battled one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer heroically and without complaint. Brain surgery, chemo treatments, stays in the hospital and Covid didn't stop his joy or hope. He was so thankful for his large family that surrounded and supported him. Andy peacefully left this world and was welcomed into heaven, leaving us with lasting memories and love.

Andy loved life and what he loved most about it was sharing it with those he loved. Most of us cannot even recall how many invitations we received from Andy over the years to his home for a casual or themed party, to watch the fights, for a family cookout or just to hang out with some good laughs, food & drink. The straight-faced jokester, who couldn't help but bust out laughing at his own jokes, always provided a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Andy embodied the entrepreneurial spirit with the main purpose of having his friends succeed alongside of him. He was more than a mentor to people, he actually was their biggest cheerleader (he may not love this description). Just when you thought, "no way can I do that," Andy would tell you that not only could you do it, but that you would be amazing at it. He may have had to tell some of us over and over again, but he never gave up...and boy, did he know how to celebrate you when you succeeded!

Without a single qualm or an expectation, Andy would give anything he could to help out a friend. This rare quality touched more lives than I'm sure he ever even knew. The generosity of Andy has been a lesson to us and one that we don't ever want to forget.

During this understandable time of grieving for Andy's family, we want them to focus on his love, laughter and memories. Andy celebrated so many of us time and time again, so we are asking for any donations that will help Andy's family and friends celebrate his life and love in the style befitting a LEGEND. We appreciate you embracing Andy's generous spirit and find comfort and peace knowing he is smiling down at us, pain free, knowing that a party is being planned!
