Matt Bomer isn't one to showcase too many personal moments of his life with his fans online, but considering the incredible year he had, he did give us just a glimpse to celebrate the end of 2023.

Ahead of the Golden Globes (for which Matt is nominated for Best Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series or Motion Picture Made for Television), the Fellow Travelers star surprised fans with a photo of him and his husband, Hollywood publicist Simon Halls. Posting a selfie of the couple, who have been married for of 12 years, on his Instagram story, Matt got reflective about how appreciative he was for all the things he accomplished in 2023.

"Happy New Year! (a little early) 🎉🥳🎊," he captioned the photo on December 31. "Guess who let me take his picture? 😄❤️. '23 was a wild one, but I'm very grateful — wishing you and yours a happy, healthy, prosperous and beautiful '24 — whatever that means to you!"

When the photo of the longtime couple began circling around the internet, fans couldn't help but comment on how much they loved seeing this rare snap.

"After all the promotional work in the last weeks, they will for sure enjoy some quality time together now," one person wrote on Instagram, referencing Matt's busy work schedule promoting Fellow Travelers. "Simon was a good sport to approve the picture. 🥰🥰," another joked. "Happy New Year to you both [and] your lovely family xx," a different follower added.

As some fans may know, Matt and Simon met when the latter was hired to be the White Collar alum's publicist. Per People, the two had an instant connection, and they wed in 2011. The couple also share sons Walker, Kit and Henry, whom Matt has been open about raising throughout his time in Hollywood.

As for the secret behind Matt and Simon's romance, the Maestro actor told People in 2016 his grandparents gave him the framework for what it takes to have a lasting marriage.

"We have three kids right now, so you’ve got to fit the romance in when you can," he said at the time. "[My grandparents] just celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary, so I always look to them and I see how every day they express their love for each other and I try to follow. They’ve set a pretty good model for me to follow."
