Entertainment One in Canada has restructured its scripted and unscripted TV business after the former Hasbro film and TV division was sold to Lionsgate as part of a $500 million deal.
The post-merger management ranks from April 1 will see Kerry Appleyard join eOne Canada as senior vp of scripted and unscripted, and run both creative teams under the leadership of eOne Canada TV president Jocelyn Hamilton.
Appleyard most recently held the post of senior vp, head of scripted at Boat Rocker Studios, where her drama credits included Orphan Black and the spinoff series Orphan Black: Echoes. And eOne Canada executive vp of scripted Tecca Crosby will be leaving the company after 12 years “to embark on a new chapter,” Lionsgate said in its announcement.

Also at eOne Canada, Darren Giblin has been promoted to senior vp, current and co-productions, and Andrew Kelly will take on the role of vp scripted development with Scott Boyd and Christine Diakos both serving as vp for unscripted development. All three execs will report to Appleyard.
And Isabel Gomez-Moriana will continue as director, scripted development and Jessica Liadsky will remain in the development manager post. The film and TV unit at Hasbro sold to Lionsgate included the toymaker’s interest in the Canadian film and TV operations of Entertainment One Canada Ltd.
Lionsgate also acquired certain assets of eOne, including a content library of nearly 6,500 titles and active productions for non-Hasbro owned IP like the Yellowjackets, The Rookie and Naked and Afraid franchises, as well as the eOne unscripted business.
