Gale Anne Hurd‘s Valhalla Motion Pictures has added a graphic novel adaptation to its slate.
The Terminator producer‘s company and Voltage Pictures will produce a film based on writer Michelangelo La Neve and artist Stuart Immonen‘s Sebastian X. The graphic novel centers on an elite cop who, after a near-fatal injury, is implanted with the memory of a notorious terrorist — Sebastian X — in order to infiltrate his group before its next attack.
Martin Campbell (Casino Royale, Green Lantern) will direct from a script that Bill Marsilii (Deja Vu) is currently writing.
Hurd will produce, with Phillip Kobylanski overseeing on behalf of Valhalla. The production company is best known for AMC’s The Walking Dead and is in production on the ratings juggernaut‘s fifth season. Its alien drama Hunters recently received a series order from Syfy.

Producing as well will be Pierre Spengler and Fabrice Giger of Humanoids, the French comic and graphic novel publisher that publishes Sebastian X. Nicolas Chartier and Craig J. Flores will produce and Dominic Rustam and Babacar Diene will oversee the project on behalf of Voltage, which counts The Hurt Locker and Dallas Buyers Club among its credits and will handle worldwide distribution for Sebastian X.
Matthew Miller, Jason Miller and Bobby Sabelhaus will executive produce.
Campbell’s filmography includes the 1995 Bond film GoldenEye (but definitely not 2011’s Quantum of Solace) and the Antonio Banderas starrers The Mask of Zorro and its sequel, The Legend of Zorro. His 1994 thriller No Escape was produced by Hurd.
Marsilii’s Deja Vu script, written with Pirates of the Caribbean‘s Terry Rossio, became one of the highest-selling specs of all time when Jerry Bruckheimer bought it reportedly for $5 million. He did an early draft of Disney’s endlessly developing 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea adaptation and has several other specs in development.
He’s repped by ICM. Campbell is repped by CAA.
