Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow Pictures have set a July 22, 2016, release date for King Arthur, a big-budget retelling of the King Arthur Legend to be directed by Guy Ritchie.
The film, which will be released in 3D and 2D, was penned by Joby Harold.

Ritchie is also producing along with his partner Lionel Wigram, Akiva Goldsman via his Weed Road shingle and Harold and Tory Tunnell through Safehouse Pictures.
Ritchie, whose next project to hit theaters will be The Man From U.N.C.L.E., has been working on a King Arthur film with Warner Bros. since 2010. While it looked like that project had fallen by the wayside, it now seems that things are back on track.
The film currently has that July 2016 weekend to itself.
