The Bonnie and Clyde story is once again on the way to the big screen.
Neil Burger, who most recently directed sleeper hit Limitless, and scribe Sheldon Turner are teaming up to adapt Go Down Together: The True, Untold Story of Bonnie and Clyde by Jeff Guinn.
Turner is writing the script while Burger, who recently boarded the adaptation of video game Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, is in talks to direct.
Sean and Bryan Furst, whose credits include Daybreakers, The Matador and The Cooler, are producing, with development being financed by Marissa McMahon, the daughter-in-law of WWE head Vince McMahon.
The 2009 book, published by Simon & Schuster, took on the story of the outlaws in the context of them being early exampled of celebrities created by the media, who turned on the duo as their crimes became more and more violent and as symbols of American lust for fame.
The producers hope to package the project the shop it to studios.
CAA-repped Turner, whose work includes X-Men: First Class and Up in the Air, is putting together his directorial debut, By Virtue Fall, which has Eric Bana, Ryan Phillippe and Carla Gugino attached to star.
Burger is also repped by CAA.
