Great for beginners
This RYOBI ONE+ 18-Volt 5-1/2 in. Flooring Saw with Blade is a great addition to the set. Does not come with battery. I have the drill set and I already have two batteries so that was not an issue. This tool is great for beginners. It’s not very big and doesn’t take up a lot of space so easy to store. Less than 18 inches wide and 24 inches long and no more than a foot high. Comes with a very small bag to catch debris. A couple of measuring tools are on the table for reference. And a well-placed handle to carry this tool. Please read the instructions before using for safety reasons. Again I don’t work in carpentry but this is great for small projects around the home.

I Do Not Want To Do Another Flooring Project Without This. !
I love the product of Luxury Vinyl Flooring and this one tool lets you do it right, neat and professional looking. Just get out this one tool and it saves getting out a bunch of tools to accomplish the same thing. It makes Miter, Rip, and Crosscuts on LVT, Laminates and Hardwoods so if LVT is not your thing you are still gonna love this tool. No need to drag out an extension cord of worry about being near an outlet as this is Battery Powered and more than adequate for the job. I did all of the various cuts listed above on one piece of scrap from an older project just to give it a try and all of the cuts were flawless, smooth crisp and clean. This did make quite a bit of mess being used on the LVT even with the dust collection bag and it also caught a bunch of it. You can, but I didn't hook it up to a shop vac for perhaps better debris capture. The instruction book could use a bit of work with a better description of each task at hand and telling you how to set it up for each. It depends on what you are going to do as to which fence and attachment and hold down you use. And before you fuss about the fences and push stick not being included and looking through the box again for them, just flip the tool up on its side and look underneath the tool base. You will find them in their own little storage rack on the bottom of the tool. The T handle fence screws are screwed into each end of the rail for the saw. And you will find the serial number in the long black tag also located on the back side of that rail. This is the tool and blade only. You must provide your own One + 18v battery and charger. Fortunately I have many tools and batteries in the One+ line so I was ready to go.

Not just for flooring , very economical for a DIY'er
This is quite the versatile saw. Its not for just flooring at all. It is more like a smaller version of a table saw but is focused on being portable from the lightweight size and carrying handle to the undersaw storage for fences and parts. It uses a 5-1/2" saw blade and included a 24 tooth blade which is perfect for most cuts. It zipped through 3/4" hickory hardwood flooring without any issues or splintering. It works great on trim and plywood also. Its a good investment for misc household jobs for a DIYer that does not want to spend alot.

Makes professional clean cuts easy
This nifty tool helped us save money by doing our patio floor ourselves. It makes accurate clean cuts at any angle. And if you use a these tips, you can get super results, waste less material and save time too. For super clean cuts, always cut with flooring FACE DOWN. This may seem obvious to pros, but the saw is mounted above the work-surface. So it cuts on the UP-stroke. By making accurate marks on the underside of flooring, then aligning to those marks, you can cut ONCE and have a clean, joint-ready edge. That avoids the problems of cutting with utility knives, scoring, and compound errors from multiple operations. Cut in One and your DONE! Another HUGE problem this thing solves is odd angles. Our back porch had many irregular angles to cope around the bay window, plus the common problems with un-square construction. Normally, that requires taking precise measurements and transferring them to a miter-saw, and hoping you didn't make mistakes. But with this thing, we just made cardboard templates and taped them together to fit each angle perfectly. Then we flipped the templates upside down, so we can cut from the bottom for super clean cuts. It worked like a charm! That also automatically compensates for irregular dimensions in imperfectly constructed rooms. What a time saver! Power? PLENTY! We used LifeProof antique Oak flooring ( available at HD) and finished the entire job in one afternoon! I estimate we made over 130 cuts on one full battery-charge. If you have flooring jobs and want to save money by doing them yourself, get this saw. Cut up old cardboard boxes to use for templates. Use your utility knife for the cardboard. Cut the flooring UPSIDE DOWN with this saw. It just stunned me how fast and easy this job went because of this saw and those tips. Now, do I have any criticisms of this tool? Just two, and they are small. The dust collection is good with the included bag. That's fine if you work outdoors. But we wanted to save time by working inside. So we attached a small shop-vac to the dust port. That makes the dust-collection GREAT! THE REASON the dust collection works so well is because the blade is surrounded by that clear plastic housing. So that housing it crucial for good dust collection. My only complain is, if you have to change the blade, it requires unscrewing multiple screws of that housing. I wish they'd designed that part with a faster blade change system. But so far, that hasn't been a problem because we didn't need to change the blade. The included blade tays sharp and made clean cuts all through our little patio job. The other problem? Well, I'm afraid the boss was so impressed with how well this worked, I might have more projects on my "honey-do list" soon. I confess, this tool made the work seem kinda fun! Get this tool and a good pair of knee pads. Then save some money and have fun improving your floors too.

Useful Tool
Another example of Ryobi coming up with a useful tool that both DYI'ers and Professionals alike will use. I plan on using this for flooring I'm about to install that consists of laminate that's so popular now. This saw will allow me to make cross cuts, rip and angle cuts with a 5 1/2 inch blade. It's a compact saw that even has a handle for moving it from room to room or from project to project. The angle jibs store neatly on the bottom of the tool. Nice design.

A surprisingly light, put-together flooring saw that will knock your socks off
Great saw! Cordless, light, accessorized, and useful. A child could lift it by its in-frame handle opening. It has a miter attachment, and a rip attachment. There is a clamp to hold down the flooring if necessary. Flooring can be ripped from one inch to 4.5 inches off. I think it accommodates up to 1 inch flooring thickness. There are pawl to prevent kickback. The saw is rated for 6,000 rpm using a 5.5 inch 24 tooth blade. There is a spare arbor for mounting the blade, and a spare wrench and Philips combo tool. Attachments mount on the bottom of the saw and are held in place when in used by a screw in holder. There are two holders that are screwed into the saw's travel rail. The saw itself locks if you want in the middle of the travel rail so transporting it is safer, easier. I was quite surprised and very pleased when I lifted it out of the box - ight! Very light. This is really all you need for cutting flooring pieces. While you can rip from an inch to 4.5 inches off a side, you have only 21 inches of cutting path so you will have to advance the flooring product through any cut. Yes, there is a push tool included and yes, it is stored on the bottom of the saw. The instructions are basic and include a few languages. Why Ryobi included several illustrations AFTER all the different language manuals-I don't know but these pages can be almost missed. These show how the saw is put together with attachments and options. Look for these on the very back end of the manual. You will need to get an 18 v 9 ah battery or at least a 6 ah battery because if you are working a half or full day, you will need the power. You don't want to be shut down on your project while awaiting the battery recharge. The saw kicks a lot of particulate matter out. Most likely you will want to use the catch bag. It seemed to fit a bit loose so when it got near full, it tended to come off. Not a bit thing and a rubber band or two fixes that. It is super nice being able to move the saw around and not yourself around a saw. This can be carried, used anywhere. Laminate and hard flooring cuts are 22.5 degrees to 45 degrees. Flooring work is now not so much hard work. Wear ear and eye protection of course. I don't get easily surprised because I have seen a thing or two but I admit Ryobi surprised me this time around with a super product. I wish I had this 40 years ago for sure. Having it now does me very nicely as I get ready to install hardwood flooring in three bedrooms.

Handy saw and easy to handle
This saw came well-packaged. The various parts are cleverly stored; some underneath, some screwed into the slide supports. It uses the standard 18V Ryobi battery (not included). In the past, I was generally not a battery powered tool person, but this saw has plenty of power to cut 3/4" hardwood. We are using it to remodel our upstairs. The guard, slide and anti-kickback pawls work smoothly. We attach a shop vacuum to the dust collector port and it keeps the dust down. Easy to make angled cuts, like 30 and 45 degrees. Comes with a pusher tool. We are using the 9Ah battery...serious long-lasting power. And it is relatively lightweight for moving, but plenty heavy to stay put.

RYOBI ONE+ 18-Volt 5-1/2 in. Flooring Saw with Blade (Tool Only) Model # PGC21B
The RYOBI ONE+ 18-Volt 5-1/2 in. Flooring Saw with Blade (Tool Only) Model # PGC21B is a new product from the popular RYOBI brand. It’s marketed as a flooring saw but it also has many other uses. It comes with a 24T blade, blade wrenches, push stick, dust bag, rip fence, crosscut/miter fence, and a material clamp. This product could also be considered a mini portable table saw that cuts up to ¾ in. thick boards. I’m doing a stairway trim job that involves a lot of angle cuts. This saw will be just fine and at 15 lbs the portability is nice. RYOBI supports this product with a 3-year manufacturer's warranty.

Nice tool, adequate flexibility
Well thought out. Does it all, includes a few accessories to make work simpler and safer. Will cut hardwood up to 3/4" however I imagine the number of cuts that can be made will be reduced from the mentioned 300, but I would expect it will approach that when cutting laminate. Trial cuts with some pieces I had left over from last job were precise and very clean. I have lots of batteries, so the fact that this didn't include a battery or charger was actually a plus. Look forward to using this for my next job, should make matters much easier, and beat using a standard chop saw hands down.

Good saw for the money. I have full size table saws but wanted one for on the bench to make small cuts and this works perfectly, especially able to cut 3/4". Flooring saw turned small table saw! The travel lock/lever isn't the best design, sometimes locks in forward travel. Stock saw blade isn't the best but it's ok. Good battery life. Good option for a small saw, just like I wanted.

Great Saw
I am a female who is normally very intimadated by any type of saw. I decided to invest because I wanted to DIY my whole downstairs with Luxury Vynil flooring. This is one of the best tools I have ever purchased. Very easy to set up. Small and lightweight. All cuts where great! This saw saved me so much time and effort. I highly recommend it. If you have a large job I would recommend two batteries or you can chage one in your down time. Battery fully charges in about 45 minutes.

I think the saw is great my issue is with home depot. There were two saw cartons to choose from both in terrible condition. I chose the best looking one. When I opened it, I discovered someone had bought, used, repacked and returned it. It was put back on the shelf and I unknowingly bought it thinking it was new. So I paid full price for a used saw. Who knows how long it was used for. Its not the saw, or the employees it's home depots policy. If Pay full price I expect a NEW item. I'm not a happy satisfied customer.

      frustrated
bought this tool and haven't used yet because again Home Depot never has Ryobi accessories in stock. this is the 4th time an employee tries to sell me Diablo brand accessories for my ryobi. No sanding disk for the orbital sander, no blades for the multi tool, no blades for the jigsaw and now no blade for the floor saw. I think it time I sell all my ryobi and go to a different brand.

Cannot do 4 1/2 inch cuts
I need to do a 4 1/2 inch rip cut on a 5 inch wide vinyl plank. There are markings on this saw up to 4 1/2 inches, but the holes that you have to screw the fence into only go to 4 1/4 inches! This is so frustrating. The only other option with the particular planks I have is to cut 1/2 inch the other way, but the narrowest cut you can make is 1 inch. I guess I will have to return this saw and buy the Stihl brand one.

            Good tool
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this for 1500 sqft of laminate and LVP flooring. This was so much more capable than a chop saw regarding cut versatility. I highly recommend to use it with a small vacuum to reduce the mess. the cut guides work fine but are a little fidgety to set up. So planning similar cuts ahead makes sense.

              Great saw
I bought this saw a few weeks ago. Got it to make things faster and not bring out multiple saws. Made alot of rips on it and straight cuts and works flawlessly. It's more than paid for its self and another plus is its very light.
