Disa bracteata is an introduced species of orchid native to South Africa. It has now become naturalised throughout southern Australia. Flowering in spring it can be distinguished from the similar looking native Microtis or Mignonette Orchids in that the Disa has numerous long, basal and stem leaves and fleshy flower scapes. Mictrotis have a single erect smooth tubular leaf.
